Abstract:
Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) slabs produced from ArcelorMittal casters worldwide have high alloy contents manganese up to 5%, silicon up to 2% and aluminum up to 2% for achieving desired mechanical properties for automotive customers. These specialty steel grade groups include Dual Phase (DP) and TRIP steel grades. High Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) steel grades slated for the line pipe industry also have high manganese content (up to 1%) and relatively higher sulphur (>50 ppm) and phosphorus (>100 ppm) contents compared to other steel grades.
